Wellll thenn, if any of you remember me posting a post about the merits for fasting in the month of rajab, turns out that apparently all the hadeeth indicating the special virtues of fasting this month are da'eef (weak). and guess what ive been doing each week... lol.
"As for fasting in Rajab in particular, the ahaadeeth concerning that are all da’eef (weak), and in fact mawdoo’ (fabricated). The scholars do not rely on any of them. They are not among the da’eef ahaadeeth which have been narrated concerning virtues, rather most of them are fabricated and false. In al-Musnad and elsewhere there is a hadeeth which says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined fasting the sacred months, namely Rajab, Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and Muharram, but this has to do with fasting during all of them, not just Rajab. End quote. "
but to be honest im not mad. I feel good about myself for fasting a few extras. and anyone who has been fasting this month as well shouldnt be mad either because we get atleast SOME kind of ajr for it. feel good about yourselves for doing so because it only proves how commited you are to your faith =D.
anyways im off. hope everyone here enjoys my blog. salaams xxxxxxxxxxxx

Beauty and Immodesty. One of the biggest misunderstandings within our Ummah?
For a few weeks now i have been searching for the islamic rulings of certain types of beautification that is halal for us muslimahs. I searched on makes up, hair extensions, heels, dress, and even plucking eyebrows. What was interesting is that i found a slightly huge variance between the muslims and scholars. Some said that beautification so long as it doesn't physically change the creation of Allah or is over the top is permissible and others said that ANY kind of beautrification is haraam (even removing upper lip hair :S) because it will attract unwanted attention from men and will make them stare. I just sat there thinking... 'hold on as women we naturally want to make ourselves beautiful and make ourselves look presentable as muslims.' To be honest i got kinda vexed at those who said that beautification alltogether is haraam.
Then i came across this hadeeth:
From ’Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood radiallaahu ’anhu who said that the Prophet sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam said, “No one will enter Paradise who has an atom’s weight of pride in his heart.” A man said, “What if a man likes his clothes to look good and his shoes to look good?” He said, “Allaah is beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means denying the truth and looking down on people.”
Meaning that we SHOULD make ourselves look presentable and approachable and not like some ungroomed farm animal. Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying that us girls then should go out there with a full face of makeup and puckered up lookin 'bum'. I'm saying that we as muslim women should be able to some extent be allowed to beautify ourselves.
Many muslims say that beautification alltogether is haraam in fear of crossing the limits of immodesty. Beauty is not immodesty and immodesty is not beautiful. Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Many muslims over expose themselves thinking its beauty and many other muslims dont make an effort to look beautiful incase they attract unwanted attention. You can be beautiful AND modest. When a girl gets married how is she meant to make herself pleasing to the eye of her husband? If she doesn't make herself moderately beautiful for him could this dissatisfy him?
One of my muslim friends got a load of people chattin things about her saying how shes 'immodest' and people going up to her face saying how men will not lower their gazes at her. And she was dressed modestly but nicely! she had very subtle make up too, her eyes were only done very subtly. and then all these other muslim ladies jump on her and criticise her for being indecent.... . First of all, the whole 'lowering the gaze' is a mutual thing. its a 2 way streak. You cant put all the responsibility on the women for being 'too beautiful'. Men have to do their part and lower their gaze too. It is hard for them but doable. if they werent able to do so under any circumstances then Allah SWT wouldnt have made it fard upon them.
So my conclusion is that you can be both modest AND beautiful. Infact modesty is the highest form of beauty. It gains respect and is empowering too. So please, don't confuse the two terms when they are at almost opposite ends of the spectrum. Remember that Allah SWT is beautiful and Loves Beauty.

''It's my life so i do what i want. Whatever my heart tells me to do i will do it"
Salaam all.
Im pretty sure many of us have thought to ourselves at one point in our lives that we should be aloud to lead our lives the way we want to. Many of us still see others living on this philosophy. They think that they dont need God or religion to tell them how to live their lives becoming pro-choice because they feel its what makes them truly happy. They may hide behind the excuses ''God gave us free will and its his biggest gift to us.''
Yes that is true. Free will is the biggest gift that God gave to us but it is also our biggest responsibilty. He gave it to us not that so we can indulge in our lusts, but rather it is a test to see whether we will choose good over and abstain from anything which Allah tells us to abstain from. Now, in my case whenever i get depressed about lifes problems, i have my 'muslim' friends tellinh me to just live my life the way i want it and to have no regrets. Bad answer. This is exactly what Shaytan (Satan) wants us to do. To follow our own desires and neglect religion and Allah. To indulge in this life so that it becomes hard to come back to faith. Only to find out that when we die we were in the wrong and fallen a slave to our own selves and desires. So in a way, chasing after our lusts means that we are self worshipping because we are making ourselves incharge of ourselves. Making ourselves the ONLY authority in our lives. This is called Hedonism based on 'Carpe diem' which means 'Seize the day' i.e. live life to the fullest by indulging in watever u wanna do. This ideology is backed up by present day media undoubtedly.
Heres the interesting part. Anton LaVey who is a the founder of the Church of Satan said that devil worship is not based on the caricatures that we see in the media. Shaytan is FAR MORE mundane and universal than we realise. Rather, Satanism is self worship and following our lusts and desires
"I can do anything that i want to. I can persue any kind of lust or desires and feel i can engage in any activities that are so called sinful activities and not really worry about any accumentical counsels making it right for me to do these things."- Anton LaVey, Founder of the Church of Satan.
He clearly states that satanism is not the typical offering human sacrifices and blood drinking that we all think but rather it is neglecting god and following worldly desires.
''..and he, as a satanist, knowing this, realizing what his human potential is, eventually, and here is one of the essential points of satanism, attain his own godhead in accordance with his potential. Therefor each man, each woman, is a god or goddess in satanism.''- Anton LaVey.
Meaning, that by 'doing what you want' you are following satan clearly and that it is a type of devil worship that we fail to realise. Many of us have fallen under this including many muslims. Having illicit relations with people, thats worshipping Satan. Stealing something that really want, thats worshipping Satan. Causing hate between people, thats worshipping satan.
Remember, worship doesnt mean just praying. It can simply means obeying certain rules given from someone. All your actions that u do can be a form of worship. When we pay zakat or even follow the sunnah of the prophet, that's worshipping Allah. but going against Allah's commands means Devil worship because you are obeying Satan.
''My heart is the ruler of all my being. If my heart tells me it's true, that's good enough for me."-Jennifer Lopez.
''The answers to your problems are in yourself, not in a God or a religion.''- Ed Kowalczyk
In conclusion, Shaytan is indeed very clever. Nowadays this kind of behaviour is applauded by most of the world yet they fail to realise the truth and purpose of this life. Shaytan has made many different ways in which he can gather his humans into hell by a way of secularism and pro choice. It's right infront of our eyes yet we fail to see it because we are following this world blindly. He has made our desires so attractive and seducing that we fall into this mindset. This is very crucial. And anyone who reads this, I urge you to spread this message to others. What happens when the dajjal comes then and we follow shaytan. How can we have a chance to stand up against him when we have fallen for Satan? Rethink your purpose of life. And search into urself and correct anything that need purifying, as it could save your soul.

Real friends?
I just wanted to touch on a topic that i would like to express my feelings about. Friendship. which is a strong bond between people that is linked with hearts.
d. Freind: a person you know well and regard with affection and trust.
The word 'friend' gets tossed around alot. its used in vain. Nowadays trust has vanished between alot of us and we cant seem to be genuine to anyone in fear of getting hurt. Especially within the Ummah. Here in the UK many muslim sisters have become two-faced to eachother and act like enemies rather than sisters. its all 'she dun wot wiv dat man' and jealousy. The honesty and loyalty has seemed to have faded between us as a whole because we have become self centred in this world full of fitna and materialism.
Many of us muslims sisters comfortably backbite about others without any intention of stopping but we get vexed when we hear someone backbiting about us. and then we form these little cliques against eachother out of vain hate and blindness. Even though we may not be biological sisters. Allah has made us no less than sisters in faith. So why abuse this? we are poisoning our hearts and we aint exactly doing credit to ourselves =\
For me, honestly i love all my tru ones. And to be honest i dunno wat id do without them. But i find it so hard to trust anyone (even muslimahs) because of all this deceit and unloyalty. any sista on here would wish that would go away. Our friends either have a good influence or bad influence on us. So we either be a good influence on our friends by advising them islamicly or we either are a bad influence on them, turning them away from dhikr.
Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) was further asked, "Who is the best among people?" Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) replied, "He who, when you look at him, you remember Allah (SWT)".
and:
"Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken such-and-such as a friend!" Noble Qur'an (25:28)
"Friends on that day will be foes to one and another - except the Righteous Ones." Noble Qur'an (43:67)
Meaning that either our friendship with a person is leading us on the right path or deviating us away from it. In the end, were all gonna die and all that will matter is our deeds. So we want a friendship that is sweet and also beneficial for us. How can a friend be a friend if they are infact detrimental?
Also a key factor in friendship is patience. We all have to be patient with our friends for the sake of Allah because it is worthwile and we are only human, so we arent perfect.
So in conclusion to alll of this, loook into yourself and see what needs patching up and fixed in order to become a better person. and when you see a true friendship that is beneficial for you. grab hold of it with both hands because one day you will regret letting it slip away when you most need it. A friend in need is a friend in deed. And therefore sisters (and brothers :) ) i ask of you to be true to your fellow muslims and to have mutual respect and kindness to eachother
salaaam :) xxx

Racial Pride....
One thing that is a big problem within our muslims and ummah is that we are so divided. we divide ourselved either by race, status, nation, gender and sect. n i just wanted 2 speak bout each of these things. The main thing that really annoys me is when muslims dont see themselves as muslims. they see themselves as 'Arab' or 'Asian' or 'Somali' etc etc. Since when did u hear the Prophet (PBUH) say in any of his hadith that he is a ''proud arab'' or that he encourages pride in races and nations? Apart from the hadith where he said to "love arabs for 3 things" yet this was disproved. I swear i get vexed when i go on holiday to Jordan and see the 'Jordan First' posters. Yet im being accused for being accused for being ashamed which im not. I just dont consider it as a priority
Seriously, like.. whats the point? the muslims didnt progress or overcome any struggle because of 'pride in their nations' what motivated muslims was the faith and trust they had in Allah. Nowadays muslims are too stuck on pride. which is causing division and hate amongst ourselves.. no wonder were being overridden by our enemies. Their motto is "Divide & Conquer" and we seem to have fallen into this trap. So don't come by sayin ArABiiAN GoDdEsS*<3 or PaKii PriiNc£sS coz ur doing NO FAVOURS!.
So why take pride in something that doesnt matter and is not going to matter when u die? why take pride in skin colour? when u die its gonna decay and be in the dirt and soil. all it is is MELANIN. its just a SKIN PIGMENTATION.
Pride will lead to nationalism and racism. i mean look at the arabs and the slave trade. we were arrogant over africans simply becauss we thought we better because of our race and this lead to the suffering of many people. Or how about the Jews in Palestine? what about the BNP? see what i mean??? but obv we have become too blind to notice our own problems. For example two muslims. one iranian and one arab. they both believe in the Same God, The Last Messenger, Pray, Fast and give to charity. yet (just an example) the Iranian muslim looks down on the Arab muslim just because he is Iranian or vice versa. or This could be the case between a Somali muslim and an Indian muslim. i swear this is how our enemies WANT us to think, so they can one by one slowly take over and conquer us. Many muslims even shun mixed race marriages or marriages outside our tribe/family. Prophet Mohammed PBUH told us to ''Marry from afar... do not become sickly''. The Prophet PBUH himself married a Jew and a Byzantinian Egyptian. SO WHY RANT??
in conclusion Pride in Race/Sect= RIDICILOUS AND IGNORANT. We follow the same religion and have the same beliefs, yet we do not act like the brothers and sisters in islam like were supposed to. Dont get this wrong, im not saying that we should be ashamed, just dont mak it a priority. the Prophet Mohammed PBUH didnt, and look what he had accomplished in his life time. Imma leave with this Hadith:
The Prophet peace be upon him said: "people should give up their pride in nations because this is a coal from the coals of hellfire. If they do not give this up llah (SWT) will consider them lower than a lowly dung worm which pushes itself through faeces." (Recorded by Abu-Dawood and Al-Tirmidhi)

Peace
Salaam/Peace all.
Just thought I'd have an introductory blog to get the ball rolling. Lemme start with myself. Names Farah, I live in Bristol,UK and am currently studying for my A-levels in college. I started this blog for muslims and non muslims to read. I'm still tryna get the hang of Blogger since it's my first time doing this.
But yeahh, basicallyy i created this for muslims and non muslims, local and worldwide to read. The slander and hate towards islam has increased DRAMATICALLY and is STILL increasing. So i thought i'd contribute to help decrease this to a minimum by clearing any misconceptions and informing people about what islam really is. It's not gonna be the typical 'simple discussion'. It will be like, proper in depth. I will be touching on the very simple things to the very contraversial. Also... if you have any opinion at all, SHARE IT :D. I love to here opinions coming from all perspectives so whether it's a critique, compliment, question, i don't mind. So long as you are not crossing the lines and being insulting to others or to religion then its all kl. And I don't care who you are too, It doesn't matter if you're muslim, christian, jewish, hindu, agnostic, atheist WHATEVER.
Another reason why I've created this blog because it is a Dawah oppurtunity. What inspired me to do this was for a long time I've been reading blogs and watching videos by Muslimah2Muslimah (big shout out girlls :D). I serioussly recommend you check their website out. It mainly touches on the issues surrounding the lives of muslim women/girls such as hijab, beauty, relationships, friendships etc etc.
So yeah, if you have any questions you'd like to ask me then don't hesitate. No matter how stupid it may sound. I don't bite you know lol. I'd be happy to answer whatever questions you have in mind.
PEACE x
